Abstract

Lengthy and detailed letter to the editor from Maine School Choice Coalition coordinator Frank Heller and Professor Jon Reisman calling for a model school choice program in Maine. The authors argue that Maine school spending is already very high, but school learning results are poor. They argue that school choice will give parents and students more responsibility and improve the quality and customer service of public schools.
