Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on a measure proposed by Rep. Ethan Strimling, D-Portland, to raise Maine's minimum wage, which goes from $6.50 to $7.00 an hour in October. Strimling is proposing an increase to $7.70 an hour in 2008 and $8.40 an hour in 2009, with an automatic increase annually based on the Consumer Price Index.
