Abstract

"Focus: Building & Real Estate" piece on a new home in Freeport that is among the first in the nation to be certified platinum under the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. Constructed by Portland-based Wright-Ryan Construction, the home features solar panels, low-flow faucets, triple-glazed windows, and environmentally friendly building materials. The five-bedroom, 3,200-square-foot Cranberry Ridge house is listed for $1.1 million.
