Abstract

"Business Maine" piece on "Potatoes to Plastics," a study released this month by the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center at the University of Maine that reports Maine is ripe to supply potatoes to the growing bio-plastics industry. InterfaceFABRIC, a Guilford subsidiary of Atlanta-Ga.-based Interface, organized the study to help find bio-plastics resources closer to home. The next phase of the study will involve researching potential sites for a bio-plastics manufacturing plant in Maine.
