Abstract

"By the Numbers" piece on Maine's highest-paid public company executives, ranked by total compensation in 2006. They are, in order from the highest-paid: William Ryan, president/CEO of TD Banknorth Inc. in Portland (he stepped down from both positions and remains chairman of the board; the bank was taken private in 2007); Jonathan Ayers, president/CEO of Idexx Laboratories Inc. of Westbrook; Mark Thompson, president/CEO of Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc. of South Portland; Peter Verrill, vice chairman/CEO of TD Banknorth; Wendy Suehrstedt, senior executive VP/president of the Mid-Atlantic division of TD Banknorth; John Fridlington, senior executive VP/chief lending officer of TD Banknorth; William Wallen, senior VP/chief scientific officer of Idexx; Stephen Boyle, executive VP/CFO of TD Banknorth; Michael Dubyak, president/CEO of Wright Express Corp. in South Portland; and Andrew Greene, senior executive VP of insurance and investments at TD Banknorth (now retired).
