Abstract

"From the Ground Up" piece on how a four-year, 47-percent enrollment increase at the Maine Community College System is good news for local contractors. In addition to the increase in skilled workers, three new dormitories are under construction and additional renovation and repair projects have been identified at the schools. Because of high demand, students have been turned away from programs, a situation that must change if Maine workers are to obtain necessary job skills.
