Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on Maine's position near the bottom of Forbes magazine's recently released "Best States for Business" list. John Richardson, commissioner of Economic and Community Development, says the data is two years old. Maine is fifth in terms of entrepreneurial activity, has a low unemployment rate, and has repealed the property tax on business equipment, which was not reflected in the report.
