Abstract

"Focus: Energy & Utilities" piece with a breakdown of the Efficiency Maine program, which has awarded nearly $7 million to nearly 1,000 Maine companies since its inception in 2003. The awards have paid for companies to swap out traditional lighting with energy efficient fixtures and bulbs and upgrade to energy saving HVAC systems. Fred Bever of the Maine Public Utilities Commission said the program has saved Maine businesses more than $10 million in average electricity costs. With a breakdown of how the program is being used, and a list of top recipients.
