Abstract

"Business Maine: Midcoast & Down East" piece reporting that the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission recently approved a proposal to build the largest wind farm in New England on a ridge near Danforth. The Stetson Mountain wind farm in Washington County will include 38 turbines and generate enough electricity to power 27,000. The $100 million, 27-megawatt project will be built by Evergreen wind Power, a subsidiary of UPC Wind Management of Newton, Mass. Evergreen already operates the 28-turbine Mars Hill wind farm, currently the largest wind farm in the region.
