Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece profiling David MacDonald, director of land protection and interim president of the Topsham-based Maine Coast Heritage Trust. The trust wrapped up a record 50 conservation projects in 2007, created three new positions, added an office in Washington County, and created the Conservation Innovation Program, designed to find new sources of funding and to expand partnerships. Last year, 20-year president Jay Espy left to become executive director of the Elmina B. Sewall Foundation in Kennebunk, leaving the trust with over $1 million in its pocket.
