Developer Joe Cloutier says that his $22 million project, Bayside Village Student Apartment Complex in Portland, will be ready for students by August. In the fall of 2006, Orchard Trails opened in Orono. The 52-acre, apartment complex includes 12 buildings and 144 four-bedroom apartments, along with hiking trails, a fitness center, a DVD theater and a tanning booth. Miles Orth of Campus Apartments says that college student expect these high-end amenities. Orchard Trails' success thus far has been mixed.
