Abstract

"From the Ground Up" piece on wind power, the benefits of which are being touted by Kurt Adams, chairman of the Maine Public Utilities Commission (PUC). Adams sees wind power, and alternative energy in general, as a way to bring energy costs down while simultaneously providing work for industrial contractors. Maine generates more energy from wind power than any other state in New England. With comments on Downeast LNG's plan to build a liquefied natural gas terminal in Robbinston, Quoddy Bay LNG's plans to build an LNG terminal in Perry; and the Mars Hill, Stetson Mountain, and Kibby Mountain wind farms.
