Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on how business lobbyists are working in Augusta as the Appropriations Committee seeks to fill a $200 million budget hole. Members of the Appropriations Committee met with the Business Research and Economic Development Committee and the Taxation Committee to discuss business incentive programs. They decided to establish a process to assess whether a program or tax break actually creates new jobs or economic growth.
