Abstract

"Business Maine: Midcoast & Downeast" piece reporting that the Belfast planning board has given approval for preliminary plans to build a Lowe's store off Route One, just as the City Council continues its efforts to block the project. The planning board deemed the project was permitted under the current zoning code. In an effort to prevent the development, the city council has voted to change the zoning ordinance and is planning a public hearing on the change for the end of the month.
