Abstract

"Business Maine: Statewide" piece reporting that Donald Hayden, president of Donald Hayden & Son Logging Inc. in Harmony, recently had five of his seven trucks repossessed at the Statehouse to draw attention to high diesel prices. Hayden was unable to make payments on the trucks because fuel prices have doubled over the past two years. The 35-year-old company will now operate with only two trucks, has laid off three drivers and plans to lay off two more. Hayden also intends to file for corporate bankruptcy. More than a dozen truckers joined Hayden for the repossession.
