Abstract

"Focus on Building & Real Estate" piece on Phil Morin, president and CEO of PM Construction in Saco, who has almost stopped bidding on jobs, because the slow market has made bidding so competitive. More companies are coming into Maine from out of state, while others are shaving prices and considering jobs they wouldn't have taken in better times. PM now relies primarily on selective bid lists, in which the client chooses which firms can bid, and negotiated contracts.
