Abstract

"Focus on Western Maine" piece containing an interview with Mike Wilson, a senior program director at the Northern Forest Center, with offices in Bethel and Concord, NH. Wilson is involved in Ways of the Woods, a Bethel-based mobile museum that travels a four-state region to educate rural people on their shared heritage. He speaks of the response to the museum, the decline of the forest products industry, the future for northern forests, and the conflict between development and conservation.
