Abstract

"Focus on Building & Real Estate" piece on Portland-based Credere Associates, which helps identify derelict and potentially contaminated sites in southern Maine with the goal of finding sites that could be redeveloped and securing funding to perform environmental assessments and remediation. Rip and Theresa Patten co-own the company and collaborate with the Southern Maine Regional Planning Commission. With details on some of their projects, including the North Berwick Woolen Mill and the Riverdam Mill and North Dam Mill in Biddeford. The brownfields redevelopment industry is dependent on public funding, which has recently been tapped dry in Maine.
