Abstract

Profiles of employees who have spent their careers in a single company. CEO Kris Doody, 45, of Cary Medical Center in Caribou, began working at the hospital as a candy stripper at age 14. Peter Vigue was hired by Cianbro Co. in Pittsfield as a laborer in 1970 and became CEO in 2000. Ellen Belknap, president of the Portland architectural firm SMRT, began as an intern in 1983. Larry Shaw, president and CEO of MMG Insurance in Presque Isle, started in 1982 as a trainee. Ed Hennessey started as a teller at Machias Savings Bank in 1970 and became CEO in 1986. Gene Geiger, CEO of Geiger, a Lewiston-based publishing business, started working for his father as a teenager.
