Abstract

"Inside Out" piece on how Lewiston-Auburn helped develop a new turnpike exit, industrial parks, an upgraded railroad, and more before the Maine Intermodal Terminal was built in 1993. Today Maine Intermodal is northern New England's largest container port. The two municipalities created partnerships with business and each other before asking state or federal governments for help.
