Abstract

"Focus on Building & Real Estate" piece on Stanford Management of Portland, owned by Rosa Scarcelli, which manages 58 affordable housing properties in Maine and 24 out-of-state. The company's latest contract is for Munjoy South in Portland. Scarcelli's stated goal is to bring "high-quality service" to her properties. Her mother, Pam Gleichman, was suspended from federal assistance programs for failing to live up to contractual obligations, but recognized for her innovation. Scarcelli, an art history major at Bowdoin College, revels in hands-on management and using her creative energies to find efficiencies and revamp policies. She was recognized as Maine's first "Emerging Leader" by the Aspen Institute's 2009 Crown Fellowship.
