Abstract

"Focus on Lewiston-Auburn" piece on Auburn's first participants in its five-year-old foreign trade zone (FTZ)--Safe Handling Inc. and NEPW Logistics Inc. The Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council, which needed a business to activate the zone by Oct. 1, will help the two companies find clients. Auburn is expecting companies to increasingly seek less-congested transportation ports like theirs. With details on FTZs, snapshots of those in Lewiston, Auburn, and Lisbon, and a look at three unused zones in Bangor, Madawaska, and Waterville.
