Abstract

Several training programs are underway in Maine to develop a wind energy work force, which some fear will outpace available jobs. Maine's North Star Alliance fosters the composite and marine trades industries; the Maine Wind Industry Initiative is a collaborative that prepares Maine businesses to compete in the growing wind industry; and electrical contractor, Larkin Enterprises of Lincoln, just launched a program to provide initial training in the industry. With details on these initiatives and projections for wind energy job creation in Maine.
