Abstract

"Focus on Greater Portland" piece on opportunities presented by the departure of the CAT high speed ferry from the Ocean Gateway International Marine Terminal. The city sees the terminal as vital to its growing cruise ship industry, though revenues from that industry and the CAT ferry don't equal revenues generated by the CAT's precursor, the Scotia Prince ferry. The city received about $195,000 from the terminal last year, short of the $280,000 annual debt service on the structure.
