Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece with a profile of Gregg Garrison, 43, of Blaine, selected at the end of 2009 by the Maine Potato Board as young farmer of the year. With his father, Wayne, he owns the Double G farm, 1,200 acres of potato fields from Bridgewater to Fort Fairfield. Crop rotation has increased their yield by 10 percent annually, and Garrison has also introduced technology to the farm.
