"Focus on Midcoast Region" piece on how Camden is offering its Apollo tannery site free or at partial cost to a compatible business creating a certain number of jobs. The city has spent nearly $1 million for demolition and remediation. The land-for-jobs proposal is an effort to bring in year-round jobs, a concern since credit card giant MBNA departed and took 500 jobs. The current abundance of cheap commercial space means the property is now being marketed more aggressively.
