Abstract

Like most forecasting models, the University of Southern Maine's "Maine Business Indicators" predicts no economic growth for the first three quarters of 1997, and no changes in any of the eleven components that comprise its index. A related study in Florida concluded that Maine is recovering more slowly from the last recession than is the nation as a whole.
