Abstract

"Focus on Green Business" piece on Tamrah Brown, head of the Bangor-based Eaton Peabody law firm. She is instituting a policy of green initiatives at the firm, which took part in a pilot project using a 100-question assessment tool that was developed in coordination with Massachusetts-based Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences. The tool looks at sustainability in a way that encompasses a wide range of decisions and actions, including whether the owner of a company makes a living wage. In Maine, companies like Eaton Peabody, Idexx, and Planet Dog are hoping their efforts toward sustainability will encourage other businesses to follow suit.
