Abstract

"Focus on Education & Training" piece on the challenges and opportunities presented by Maine's aging workforce. Workers who delay retirement prevent younger workers from advancing, but employers are also aware they'll be facing a labor supply issue in the near future. The Senior Community Service Employment Program, the Seasoned Workforce LLC, the Department of Labor's Aging Worker Initiative, and the Maine Employers' Initiative are all geared toward helping older workers.
