Abstract

"Focus on Health Care" piece with an interview with Lisa Miller, co-program director of the Bingham Program of Augusta, which is working to raise awareness of--and find solutions for--a potential crisis in Maine's nursing work force. The program and its partners in the effort recently received a $200,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which will be matched. Miller discusses the aging of Maine's nurses and the lack of nursing faculty, as well as the need for geriatric nurses.
