Abstract

Wiscasset-based Coastal Enterprises Inc. (CEI), a community development financial institution, has been hobbled by a lack of reserve funds and unable to meet the demand for microloans, leaving millions untouched in the U.S. Small Business microloan program. Now, thanks to a recent $125,000 grant from Bank of America, business owners will benefit from upwards of $800,000 in new microloans.
