Abstract

"Focus on Augusta-Waterville" piece on Tobias Parkhurst and his father Richard Parkhurst, who have bought and are renovating several properties in downtown Augusta. They hope to bring tenants and restaurants to the area, which was largely emptied of residents in the 1950s and 1960s. Former Augusta Mayor Roger Katz is excited about the Parkhursts' plans and used money in a downtown TIF account to install a propane gas tank for a proposed restaurant space in one of the buildings.
