Abstract
Intranets have become a useful and efficient method for companies to transmit important information to employees overwhelmed by information overload. While larger companies have been using intranets since the 1990s, smaller companies have had a more difficult time finding less expensive intranet solutions that better suit their needs. A Portland-based startup called iKNO Intranet created a new intranet platform specifically designed for small businesses that is currently used by Norway Savings Bank. Benefits of intranets include information that doesn't disappear, company calendars, news and the opportunity for employees to learn about the work done in other departments.
