Abstract

"Focus Greater Bangor" piece on Bangor-based Cross Insurance and its expansion across New England. Founded in 1954 by Woodrow Cross, the agency began acquiring agencies in other parts of Maine during the 1960s and then started looking for acquisitions outside of the state. By 2011, their out-of-state operations will be larger than their in-state operations.
