Abstract

"By the Numbers" piece on Maine's largest alpine ski areas, ranked by vertical drop. The six largest out of the 15 listed are, in descending order: Sugarloaf Mountain Resort in Carrabassett Valley, Sunday River Ski Resort in Newry, Saddleback Maine in Rangeley, Shawnee Peak in Bridgton, Black Mountain of Maine in Rumford, and Mt. Abram in Greenwood.
