Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on state revenues that were up $2.5 million in November but still $4.2 million below estimates for the first four months of the budget year. Finance Commissioner Sawin Millett says that December numbers will increase the shortfall by $10 million and places some of the blame on the slow economic recovery and sales tax revenue this budget year that is only up 2.3%. Revenue from penalties and taxes continues to fall short of projections for the year and is currently 19.7% below estimates.
