Abstract

Cate Street Capital, founded in 2009 and based in Portsmouth, focuses on investing in sustainable green technologies, such as its biomass plant in Berlin, New Hampshire and its water reclamation plant in Wyoming. Before completing the recent purchase of the paper mills in East Millinocket (closed since April 2011) and Millinocket (closed since September 2008) and reusing the Great Northern Paper Company name, Cate Street Capital sought out potential newsprint customers in Europe and investigated the benefits that could be derived from pairing the mill properties with their existing torrefied wood company, Thermogen Industries.
