Abstract

Profile of three small Maine businesses that manufacture their products in Maine: Falcon Performance Footwear, Auburn; Beachstone Sustainable Surfaces, South Portland; and LooHoo Wool Dryer Balls, Camden. All three companies received seed money from the Maine Technology Institute and have plans to expand their operations in the future. Neil Hanley of Falcon and Aron Buterbaugh of Beachstone want to find local sources for all their supplies. Cyndi Prince of Loo-Hoo took advantage of local programs to learn how to launch a business.
