Abstract

Robert Martin, the newly appointed head of the Maine Technology Institute, discusses the role and goals of the institute in this transcript of an interview with Mainebiz. He sees MTI's role as crucial in bridging the gap between an idea or new technology and the point at which the entrepreneur is able to secure venture capital. Hehopes to increase the number of companies that achieve commercial success and discusses some of MTI's plans, including the possibility of starting a venture fair as well as other programs designed to bring entrepreneurs and funders together.
