"Focus: Wealth Management" piece on the importance of financial planning for same-sex couples in the wake of recent changes at the state and federal level. For many recently married same-sex couples, merged bank accounts, joint filing of tax returns, and durable power of attorney are new considerations. A recent Pew Research Study indicates that LGBT Americans are less confident in financial planning than the general population, a situation that presents opportunities for wealth managers.
