Abstract

Maine has a high prevalence of radon and uranium in its rocks and soils. These radioactive substances can make their way into well water and into the air inside our homes, posing health risks. The recent real estate boom has resulted in an increase in testing for these substances, the sale and installation of mitigation systems, and the introduction of new legislation. With guidelines for radon and uranium exposure.
