Abstract

"Capitolism." Jim McGregor of the Maine Merchants Association is leading the fight against LD-1512, the latest Maine Health Care Reform Commission bill. Mandates passed last year already require all insurers to cover seven mental illnesses, chiropractic care, breast reconstruction, and formula for children with metabolic imbalances. Businesses are concerned that LD-1512 will replace workers' compensation as their largest state-required onus. Bill sponsor State Senator Dale McCormick disagrees.
