Abstract
“Focus: Greater Portland” piece profiles Kepware Technologies and its new president, Brett Austin. Kepware, a company that makes software that allows disparate industrial machinery to communicate, is tapping into the trend to add more and more devices to networked systems. Austin points to other factors that have also contributed to Kepware’s growth, including “reshoring”, that is, bringing manufacturing back to the United States. He also discusses how Kepware is working to recruit, train, and attract qualified workers to accommodate their growth.
