Abstract

Two view are expressed as to how Governor Paul LePage’s tax reform package will affect the Maine economy. According to Gov. LePage, the tax reforms will make the state more aligned with a 21st century economy. Joel Johnson, an economist at the Maine Center for Economic Policy asserts the tax reforms will make the state’s economy vulnerable in times of recession and slow economic growth. A guide, complied by Piece Atwood, to what the tax reforms are is presented.
