Abstract

Ten delegates from Maine traveled to Japan to study the Japanese scallop enhancement and cultured grow-out industry. Rather than rely on manual labor, the technique used in Japan is highly mechanized which increases the speed and volume of the scallop harvest. Maine fisherman are hoping to adapt that technique to the scallop business in Maine. [image]
