Funding Farms: Maine Harvest Credit Project Raises 60% of Needed Funding, Readies Filing with Regulators
The Maine Harvest Credit Project is in the midst of raising funds to become the state's 59th credit union. Its purpose is to support lending to the food/ag/fisheries/forest businesses throughout Maine. Once the credit union is granted, it will be a nonprofit and will offer three loan products, for equipment; buildings, expansions and upgrades; and land loans. Details of the project are provided.
