Abstract

A list of the ten largest private schools in Maine, ranked by total spring enrollment in 2017, is presented. Enrollment numbers, grades served, chief administrator, and year founded are included. Listed in descending order are Thornton Academy (Saco), Berwick Academy (South Berwick), Erskine Academy (South China), Fryeburg Academy (Fryeburg) and Waynflete (Portland) (tied at fourth), Saint Dominic Academy (Auburn), Lincoln Academy (Newcastle), Maine Central Institute (Pittsfield), John Bapst Memorial High School (Bangor), Foxcroft Academy (Dover-Foxcroft).
