Abstract
"this just in" piece on a $1 million grant received by the Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) from the Federal Highway Administration earmarked for conducting a study of the East-West Highway, noting that a 1999 study is already in existence. An additional $500,000 will be used on roads that comprise Maine's current "east-west highway" corridor, with much of the funding going toward reconstruction of Route 2 in the Gilead area.
