Abstract

Article on the fourth annual Muzzle Awards, listing ten people who have undermined freedom of speech and personal liberties. Maine awardees include Laurier Raymond, Lewiston mayor, who last fall asked Somali leaders to quell their immigration into the city; and Paul Demers, code-enforcement officer for Kennebunk, who is accused of selective enforcement and anti-Semitism for targeting Bartley's Dockside restaurant over outdoor umbrellas advertising Hebrew National Beef Franks.
