Abstract

Article on the search for wireless fidelity (WiFi), which is used to gain wireless Internet access. Jeremy Cameron of Simple Solutions, a local installer of WiFi, says business has been brisk in the past six months. The unauthorized use of WiFi is currently the subject of debate over whether it is ethical and legal to use a network connection for which someone else is paying. Sean Gilman, of the Portland-based Systems Engineering, says that rural Maine offers tremendous opportunities for WiFi development because telecommunications companies are reluctant to extend their services to sparsely populated areas.
